Welcome!
The Serra Clubs of District 7 in Minnesota welcome you and invite you to learn more about joining in our mission and ministry.
Named after Saint Junipero Serra, who founded several missions along the California Coast in the 1700’s, Serra International has become a global organization of lay Catholic men and women whose objectives are:
◊ To foster and promote vocations to the ministerial priesthood in the Catholic Church as a particular vocation to service, and to support priests in their sacred ministry;
◊ To encourage and affirm vocations to consecrated religious life in the Catholic Church; and
◊ To assist its members to recognize and respond in their own lives to God’s call to holiness.
Our Mission and Vision
Our vision is to have all people respond to God’s call to their religious vocation.
Our mission is to foster, affirm and promote vocations to ministry in the Catholic Church
About Us
The 11 Serra Clubs of Minnesota were established as early as April 28, 1939 (Club #6) through April 27th, 2002 (Club # 1038). All Serra Clubs work closely with their Bishops and their diocesan office of vocations.
St. Paul and Minneapolis are blessed with not one, but two outstanding Seminaries and are served by over 40 women’s Religious Orders, 24 Men’s Religious Orders and 1 Consecrated Secular Institute. The Duluth, St. Cloud and Crookston Dioceses also have several men’s and women’s Religious Orders.
Serrans work to bring awareness to those who are being called by the Lord, of the many lifetime opportunities to serve Him in His Church through these Seminaries and Religious Orders. Close interaction with the seminarians and religious orders is one of the most rewarding benefits of being a Serran. We pray for them, we encourage them and we affirm them in their life choice.
Meetings
Our Serra clubs meet at a variety of times in a variety of places according to the membership they represent. Most clubs meet twice a month, sharing a breakfast, lunch or dinner together and hearing an excellent speaker on a subject pertinent to our faith or to our vocation work. We would enjoy the opportunity to have you experience the Serra story.
